Jose Mourinho Replies To Paul Pogba’s Comments: “I Would Like To Say I Couldn’t Care Less With What He Says.”

I’m sure you thought you had seen the last of the Jose Mourinho Paul Pogba beef when the former was sacked by Manchester United.

In an interview he did with Sky Sports this week, Paul Pogba resurrected the conflict by criticising Jose Mourinho’s man-management. Mourinho was asked about it in his post-game interview after his team’s 2-2 draw with Everton last night. The Portuguese tactician expressed his disinterest in entertaining any of the negative comments made by Paul Pogba.

Paul Pogba felt Mourinho “went against players”. Something that new Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t do.

Jose Mourinho’s old school managerial style of calling out his players in public doesn’t seem to resonate well with the millennials. Maybe he thinks being critical of his players in the media is a motivator. But it isn’t. It instead causes friction in the dressing room and news for us bloggers. 

‘Losing the dressing room’ has been an issue Jose Mourinho has had to deal with in his past couple of managerial jobs. He left Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United under those negative circumstances. And it seems as though the axe is not so far away in Tottenham because players are apparently ‘fed up‘ with his constant blaming.

If Paul Pogba stays at Manchester United and Jose Mourinho escapes the employment reaper and Spurs, this isn’t the last instalment of this beef.

Ole on Son Feigning an Injury: “The game is gone, it’s absolutely gone…”

Yesterday Manchester United beat the stuffing out of Tottenham by 3 goals to one. But, the game isn’t what we are talking about on Monday morning. In his post-game interview, Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed his displeasure at Son Heung-min’s play-acting and VAR disallowing his team’s goal. 

In the 33rd minute, Manchester United midfielder Scott Mctominay glided past Spurs’ Son Heung-min with the ball but had a harmless swipe at the Korean with his right arm. Mctominay’s hand barely made contact with Son’s face but the Korean went down like he had been shot by a sniper. Mctominay passed the ball to Pogba, who played a through ball to Cavani who finished it to put Manchester United a goal up.

Solskjaer on Mourinho: You can’t say second is an achievement

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, unlike the dude he took over from as Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, doesn’t feel finishing second in the league behind Manchester City is an achievement. 

“You can’t say that is an achievement. Our ambition is a lot more than second place. I said that when I wasn’t at the club – you can never be happy with that. Our ambition is to catch the team in front of us.”

To be fair, when Jose Mourinho made the statement Manchester United had a back four of Young, Jones, Smalling and Valencia and City were aiming for 100 points that season.

Harry Kane says ‘Tottenham are going nowhere’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talks about ambition but just last month he said ‘trophies are for egos for some manager’.

Say wha?

That’s a strange statement to make for a manager of a club that was built on winning trophies.  Well of course Jose Mourinho couldn’t resist taking a dig at Solskjaer. 

Mourinho said: “It’s his opinion. I’m pretty sure his big boss Sir Alex had a different opinion about it. But I respect what Solskjaer thinks. I think different.

“Freedom of thinking, freedom of ideas, and if that is what he thinks that is fine by me. It’s not a problem for me, he’s not being disrespectful to anyone.

“But I repeat I believe his big boss, and the biggest in Premier League history, has a different view in relation to that.”

Tottenham host Manchester United this afternoon in the Premier League. Solskjaer is ironically trying to keep his side second spot whilst Mourinho is trying to qualify his team to the Champions League.

Harry Kane says ‘Tottenham are going nowhere’

Sources (aka snitches) say Harry Kane went on a rant with his friends on how Tottenham stink and how he wants to leave at the end of the season. 

He summed up his feelings in just four words “Tottenham are going nowhere” and he is ”100 per cent thinking of moving on”.

Of course, he won’t say this publicly because he is club captain and he has to remain politically correct.  But I don’t think this comes out if Kane and representatives didn’t want it to come out. Kane turns 28 in July. He has been England’s best forward for at least five years but has not won a trophy at Spurs. He cannot waste any more of his prime on a team that lacks ambition.

Harry Kane has three years remaining on his Tottenham contract and only a small group of elite clubs would be able to afford the £125million-plus valuation. He is sort of the black guy in the movie Get Out and Tottenham is the white family. He wants to leave but unlike the black guy, I doubt any of his friends will be there to save him.

Jose Mourinho is back at it again. This time with a different team. Word from the Tottenham dressing room is Spurs players are beyond annoyed at manager Jose Mourinho for always pointing the finger at them when things go wrong. 

Tottenham wasted a chance to move into the top four of the EPL after conceding a late equaliser to relegation-threatened Newcastle United on Sunday. After the game when asked why is he having so much trouble at reproducing the ability to hold on to leads, as he has done so well at other clubs. Jose simply replied “same coach, different players”.

You don’t need a PHD in Biomathematics to read through the lines: Spurs players, according to Jose Mourinho, are trash.

In recent times, we’ve seen this movie play out before. Jose Mourinho comes in as manager, the team goes on a good run, a few months later the form dips and it’s everybody’s fault but Jose’s. 

If it wasn’t for the gigantic contract which still has two years left to run on a £15million-a-year at Spurs, Jose may well be unemployed now. But The Special One cannot relax because If Tottenham fail to qualify for Europe this season then the compensation owed to him, if axed, would be significantly less than the reported £30 million.

What Should Be Considered A Less Than Crappy First Season For Jose Mourinho?

Breakups are never easy. I remember when I got dumped by my girlfriend, it was one of the saddest days of my life, I was 10. She found a new boyfriend the next week, the guy happened to be my best friend. I got over it, but I’ve been wishing death on that prick ever since (you’ll be glad to know he is still alive, according to Facebook). Tottenham did the same thing my girl did to me when they parted ways with their manager of five years Mauricio Pochettino. But, instead of waiting a week, they waited around 12 hours to show off their new lover: Jose Mourinho

In fairness, Tottenham stank over the past 12 months. Spurs had won just six of their 24 Premier League matches this calendar year.  It was time for Poch to go. Manchester United legend and now talking head on Sky Sports described the Tottenham and Jose Mourinho union as a “marriage of convenience” saying, “Mourinho needed to get back into the Premier League to re-establish himself. Levy needed someone who could get the football club quickly back up to a level that is acceptable and into the Champions League. This is a marriage of convenience.”
