It seems as though the European Super League isn’t happening. All six Premier League clubs that were part of the breakaway 12 have pulled out. Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he isn’t shocked the European Super League isn’t happening.
Wenger on beIN Sports “ I’m not surprised [the European Super League] didn’t last long. I never believed from the start it would happen. It ignored the basic principles of sporting merit. If you ignore that you kill the domestic leagues, so fans would never accept that. Rightly so.”
This has been the common consensus amongst football supporters and pundits in England. They believe the European Super League will kill their domestic leagues.
