I don’t know if the supporters of the Gunners should be flattered or should be worried. Unemployed Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in the Arsenal job if they decided to axe Unai Emery. The Spanish manager has been under pressure due to his team’s below-par start to the season.

Unai Emery has a problem. A defence problem. David Luiz and Sokratis are, to put it mildly, shite. Does Unai Emery know how to coach defence? from what we’ve seen this season so far it seems as though a. he doesn’t care, b. he doesn’t know, or c. all of the above.

Their midfield isn’t too impressive either. Mattéo Guendouzi is a nice young active midfielder but hasn’t reached his full potential yet, Lucas Torreira is a hardworking bullish destroyer but he isn’t N’Golo Kanté, and Granit Xhaka is plain old bad as a defensive midfielder and apparently at being a captain too.

Emery’s frontmen of Lacazette, Pepe, and Aubameyang are world-class. But only the Ivorian can create his own chances, the other two need service. 

If you’ve ever watched at least five minutes of Arsenal Fan TV (aka Arsenal Rant TV) on YouTube recently you’d know:
1. They want Unai Emery to go,
2. They hate Granit Xhaka,
3. They use the word ‘Fuck’ 7 times more in a sentence than any normal human being. 

I don’t think the appointment of Jose Mourinho would impress them either. A small band of overly critical fanatics shouldn’t be the mouthpiece for all Arsenal supporters but, I think the general sentiment amongst the Gunner fans is Jose Mourinho doesn’t play ‘their type of football’. Arsene Wenger brought a champagne-style of football to the club. With its short passing, movement, and attacks from all angles. Jose Mourinho is a defend first pragmatic manager who cares less about how he got a win but if he gets a win.
