Cape Town City host league strugglers Free State Stars
Cape Town City has had a bright start to their first ever Premier Soccer League campaign. After 10 games played, the Citizens are sitting in the second spot only behind Bidvest Wits on goal difference. Free State Stars, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the log. Ea Lla Koto is winless and has only managed to score a meager five goals in their first ten league fixtures.
“In a cup match, the form book gets thrown out the window” – unknown
But, of course, this is a cup competition and current form doesn’t count for much. You could argue that Stars had the most difficult opponents in BidWest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs to get them to this point of the tournament whilst City had to overcome newly promoted Barocka FC and the struggling Bloemfontein Celtic.
Cape Town City
The captain of Eric Tinkler’s side made an impressive start to his professional career at Ajax Cape Town but a move to Supersport United and later a loan spell at Mpumalanga Black Aces saw a dip in his form. Its seems as though Manyana has found a home in where he can get his career on the right track again at Cape Town City. He has wonderful vision, skill, and has the ability to play neat short and long passes. Free State Stars should keep tabs on him and all times because with time and space Manyama will hurt them.

Another gifted midfielder who also happens to be his side’s captain is 29-year-old Danny Venter. In a disappointing season so far Venter has been the only shinning star in the Free State Stars ranks. Venter is intelligent, has a sweet left foot that can strike the ball, and has also decent accurate long pass. His team will be looking to him for some inspiration.

Orlando Pirates looking to avenge their embarrassing defeat to Supersport United
After they got their buttocks handed to them on a silver platter Orlando Pirates are looking to get some retribution against Supersport United.
“revenge is a dish best served with lots of goals” – Unknown
The record 6-1 loss to Matsatsantsa was indeed an embarrassment for the Orlando Pirates organization and their supporters alike, the loss, even lead to Muhsin Ertuğral’s resignation on live television.
Augusto Palacios has made a good start to his tenure as caretaker coach of the Sea Robbers winning 3 out of 3 league games. He will be looking to rewrite the wrongs of the calamitous performance that his squad showed earlier in the month. Supersport United’s man incharge Stuart Baxter boasts an unbeaten record against Pirates and hopes to keep his record intact with the win.
The Zimbabwean striker has been scoring goals for fun lately. His first touch in tight areas is impressive, his sharpness is remarkable and his finishing is deadly. Morgan Gould and Clayton Daniels are going to have their hands full trying to contain him.
Starting the season out on the bench the 24-year-old former Tuks man has now been promoted to the starting XI due to his impressive performances. Mnyamane is clever, he hardly makes wrong decisions with the ball at his feet add to that his educated left foot and you have an exciting attacking player.
